Chosun University Regular Admission Competition Rate 3.48 to 1... Increase Compared to Last Year
Chosun University announced on the 7th that the regular admission application for the 2024 academic year closed on the 6th, with a total of 3,392 applicants competing for 975 spots, resulting in a competition rate of 3.48:1 (3.82:1 within the quota). This is a slight increase compared to the 2023 academic year's regular admission competition rate of 3.39:1 (3.59:1 within the quota).
Looking at the competition rates by recruitment group and admission type, Group A saw the CSAT (general admission) at 4.31:1, CSAT (regional talent admission) at 3.47:1, CSAT (military science admission) at 0.32:1, and practical/performance (practical admission) at 3.20:1. Group B recorded CSAT (general admission) at 3.80:1, practical/performance (practical admission) at 3.83:1, school records (lifelong learner admission) at 0.50:1, and school records (specialized high school graduate employed admission) at 0.12:1.
Across both Group A and Group B, the CSAT (general admission) for the Department of Japanese Language recorded the highest competition rate at 10:1, followed by the Department of Global Business Communication at 9.50:1, the Department of Pharmacy at 8.30:1, the Department of Media Communication at 7.75:1, and the Department of Occupational Therapy at 7.45:1.
In Group A's CSAT (regional talent admission), the Department of Pharmacy had the highest competition rate at 5.86:1, followed by the Department of Dentistry at 3.24:1, the Department of Medicine at 3.03:1, and the Department of Nursing at 2.92:1. For practical/performance (practical admission), the Department of Cartoon & Animation had the highest competition rate at 7.00:1, followed by the Department of Physical Education at 6.50:1.

Meanwhile, any unfilled spots from the regular admission will be recruited through an additional admission process. The additional admission will take place from February 22 to February 29, with the same admission methods as the regular admission. Detailed information, including the number of spots available, will be announced on the Chosun University Admissions Office website starting from the 22nd of next month.
