Geumcheon-gu (Mayor Yu Seong-hoon) announced the publication of a photo book titled "Geumcheon, Embracing" that captures various images of Geumcheon to welcome the new year 2024.
The photo book is composed of three themes: "Embracing Nature," "Embracing the City," and "Embracing Dreams." It features over 100 photos showcasing the beauty of Geumcheon that had gone unnoticed until now.
"Embracing Nature" includes Geumcheon’s natural environment and landmarks such as Anyangcheon, Geumcheon Hannaegyo Bridge, Hoamsan Mountain, Hanumul, and Hoapsa Temple. "Embracing the City" presents a vibrant urban image with scenes of Gasan Digital Complex, Siheung-daero panorama, and beautiful city night views. "Embracing Dreams" introduces festivals and events held in Geumcheon-gu as well as various facilities for residents.
The district carefully selected photos taken over the past year to capture the beauty of Geumcheon. Additionally, the photo book includes five award-winning works from a photo contest held last year for residents, adding special significance.
The photo book will be available at places frequently visited by residents such as the district office’s civil service center and community service centers. It will also be distributed to domestic and international sister cities and partner organizations to be used as promotional material.
Yu Seong-hoon, Mayor of Geumcheon-gu, said, “I hope this photo book, published for the first time in four years since 2019, will show the changed appearance of Geumcheon that had been overlooked.” He added, “We will continue to produce photo books regularly to record and manage various image materials of Geumcheon.”
