Icheon Office of Education Selected as Leading Education Office for Semiconductor Specialized Model
Providing Educational Programs for Middle and High School Students
On the 4th, Icheon City in Gyeonggi Province announced that the Icheon Office of Education has been selected as the '2024 Gyeonggi Shared School Semiconductor Specialized Model Research and Development (R&D) Leading Education Support Office.'
With this selection, the Icheon Office of Education will conduct student-led projects linked to universities to enhance understanding of the semiconductor industry for middle and high school students in the area. The program will involve 80 participants over four sessions.
The city plans to organize an educational program involving the Icheon Office of Education, Doowon Technical University, the Icheon branch of the Korea Ceramic Technology Institute, and semiconductor companies to increase understanding and interest in semiconductors, a strategic industry of the city, and to assist in career exploration.

Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon, stated, "We will cooperate with the Icheon Office of Education to ensure the successful operation of the Gyeonggi Shared School," adding, "We will strive to establish Icheon as a central city for nurturing semiconductor talent in the future."
