Webzen invests 30 billion KRW in game company Hound13, acquiring 26% stake
Webzen announced on the 4th that it has made a strategic investment worth 30 billion KRW in the domestic game developer 'Hound13'.
Through this investment, Webzen acquired a 25.64% stake in Hound13 and secured the priority negotiation rights for publishing the new game currently under development.
Hound13 is a game development company established in 2014, centered around CEO Park Jeong-sik and key developers from 'Dragon Nest' and 'Dungeon Striker'.
Hound13 is currently developing an animation-style action role-playing game (RPG) called 'Project D' using Unreal Engine 5. Hound13 added that the name of 'Project D' has been decided as 'Dragon Sword', and they have currently filed for the trademark. Webzen plans to finalize the development and service schedule through consultations with Hound13 and disclose additional information about the game.

This year, Webzen plans to release new games it has directly developed, such as the subculture game 'Tervis', and quickly prepare the service schedules for publishing investment games for which contracts have already been signed.
