'Kitchen Appliances Must Be Pretty to Buy'... 7 out of 10 People Consider 'Design'

When purchasing kitchen appliances, 7 out of 10 people consider 'design' as an important factor.
Cuchen announced the results of a survey on 'purchase experience of rice cookers and other kitchen appliances' conducted on 423 consumers in their 20s to 60s on the 4th.
When asked, "To what extent does design influence your decision when purchasing kitchen appliances?" 72.3% answered that it "has an influence." The most common response regarding the weight of product design in purchase decisions was "high" (43%). This was followed by "very high" (29.3%), "average" (25.3%), and "low" (2.1%).
In the process of purchasing rice cookers, 65.5% responded that "design has a high weight." Among them, 40.7% said "high," and 24.8% said "very high."
When asked whether they consider home interior when purchasing kitchen appliances, 42.3% answered "yes," and 38.5% answered "strongly yes." The response "average" was 15.6%, and "no" was 3.5%. A Cuchen representative explained, "It is analyzed that the demand for design products has increased due to the 'Gaonjeorieo (appliance + interior)' trend, which considers the overall atmosphere of the home, including the kitchen and living room."
More than half, 52%, said they tend to purchase kitchen appliances with designs they like even if it costs more. When asked how much additional cost they are willing to pay, "30,000 won or more but less than 50,000 won" ranked first at 29.1%. This was followed by "50,000 won or more but less than 70,000 won" (26.8%), "10,000 won or more but less than 30,000 won" (16.4%), "70,000 won or more but less than 100,000 won" (15.9%), and "100,000 won or more" (10.5%).
Regarding preferred kitchen appliance designs (multiple responses allowed), "clean design" (64.1%) and "design that harmonizes well with the space" (57.2%) were the most common answers. Next were "luxurious design" (26%), "trendy design following recent fashions" (22.2%), "designs awarded by famous awards" (17%), and "unique design" (9%).

A Cuchen representative said, "Although many consumers still prioritize function and price when purchasing kitchen appliances, it appears that the importance of design has increased to the extent that more than half of respondents are willing to pay extra if the design is attractive."
