"Bleeding and Swelling from Spacing Out, Asking for a Helicopter Ride" Jeong Yura Controversy Intensifies
Jeong Yura Mocks CEO Lee Repeatedly on SNS
Some Medical Circles Seem to Reflect 'Special Privilege Suspicion'
On the 2nd, Lee Jae-myung, leader of the Democratic Party of Korea, who was attacked in Busan and transported to Seoul National University Hospital by emergency helicopter, faced criticism from some quarters claiming special treatment. In response, Jeong Yoo-ra, daughter of Choi Seo-won (formerly Choi Soon-sil), added her voice. On the 3rd, Jeong sarcastically posted on social media (SNS), "I spaced out, hit a corner hard, bled and swelled, so please send a helicopter," mocking Lee.
Posting wound photo saying "Vein seems torn"
On the same day, Jeong posted a photo of the wound on her skin, saying, "(The wound) is bigger than 1.5 cm. Oh no, I'm dying. It seems like a vein is torn." The day before, she had shared an article suggesting Lee’s jugular vein injury and mocked, "Did you get stabbed with chopsticks?"
This reaction appears to reflect criticisms from some in the medical community. Earlier, Yeo Han-sol, an emergency medicine specialist at Sokcho Medical Center, said about Lee, “Treatment is possible at Busan National University Hospital, but due to the patient’s circumstances, he was transferred to Seoul National University Hospital,” adding, “An emergency helicopter was used in this process. Would 119 (emergency services) send a helicopter just because a regular person says ‘Let’s go to Seoul National University Hospital’?”
Dr. Yeo questioned, “Is there no problem with using a 119 helicopter because the patient requested transfer despite the original hospital being able to accommodate him? Will ordinary citizens be able to use 119 helicopters like this in the future?” and pointed out “the fundamental issue of special treatment.”

Additionally, Yang Seong-gwan, a family medicine doctor at Uijeongbu Paik Hospital, said, “It doesn’t make sense to go to Seoul National University Hospital instead of Busan National University Hospital, which is the country’s top regional trauma center.” Regional trauma centers are facilities capable of emergency surgery immediately upon hospital arrival for severe trauma patients. Busan National University Hospital’s regional trauma center has received the highest grade, A, for four consecutive years in the Ministry of Health and Welfare’s ‘Regional Trauma Center Evaluation.’
Regarding Lee’s transfer to Seoul National University Hospital, Jung Cheong-rae, a senior member of the Democratic Party, previously said, “The neck is a sensitive area, so considering aftereffects, surgery should be done where it is best,” adding, “It was what Lee’s family wanted.” On the 3rd, the Democratic Party stated about Lee’s condition, “He was initially in a very critical state, and it is no exaggeration to say that divine luck saved his life,” and “This is a time when absolute stability is needed.”

The Busan District Prosecutors’ Office special investigation team announced on the 3rd that after reviewing the Busan Police Agency’s detention warrant application, they recognized grounds for detention such as the “seriousness of the attempted murder crime” and “risk of flight and evidence tampering,” and requested a detention warrant from the Busan District Court. Accordingly, the Busan District Court plans to conduct a pre-detention suspect hearing (warrant review) for Kim at 2 p.m. on the 4th.
