Orion's snack product 'Orion Custard' was found to contain food poisoning bacteria, leading the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety to decide on a sales suspension and recall.
On the 3rd, the Ministry of Food and Drug Safety announced that Staphylococcus aureus, a food poisoning bacterium, was detected in Orion Custard products produced on the 22nd of last month at Orion's 4th Cheongju Factory in Cheongju, Chungbuk. Staphylococcus aureus is a grape-like shaped bacterium that secretes toxins in food, causing vomiting and diarrhea. The recalled products have a consumption expiration date of June 21 and a total of 1,318 kg have been shipped.
