Suncheon Chamber of Commerce Holds New Year's Meeting

Creating a Business-Friendly Environment and Doing Our Best to Generate Youth Jobs

On the 3rd, the Suncheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry in Jeollanam-do held the "2024 New Year's Meeting" at the Grand Ballroom of Suncheon Eco Grad Hotel, attended by over 300 people from Jeollanam-do, Suncheon City, Gurye County, Boseong County's political circles, economic sectors, education, and media representatives.

The New Year's Meeting was attended by related institution heads including Suncheon Mayor Noh Gwan-gyu, Suncheon City Council Chairman Jeong Byeong-hoe, Jeollanam-do Eastern Regional Headquarters Director Jeong Chan-gyun, Jeollanam-do Council Chairman Seo Dong-wook, representatives of broadcasting stations and media, and company representatives including Lee Heung-woo, chairman of Suncheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry. The event proceeded with the 2024 Suncheon Chamber of Commerce Awards ceremony, New Year's greetings from major institution heads, and a luncheon.

In his New Year's address, Lee Heung-woo, chairman of Suncheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, said, "Although the economic conditions in the new year are uncertain and companies are facing difficulties, we will do our best to create a business-friendly environment and create jobs for young people."

He continued, "As this year marks the 85th anniversary of the Suncheon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, we will take the lead in making Suncheon a first-class city where young people want to stay and live, and in achieving a great leap forward for a happy and sustainable Suncheon for all citizens."

Jeong Chan-gyun, director of the Jeonnam Eastern Regional Headquarters, who attended on behalf of Jeollanam-do Governor Kim Young-rok, said, "This year, Jeonnam's budget is a total of 12.2 trillion won, which is 2.8% higher than the government's budget growth rate. We have secured national funds for the Suncheon Animation Cluster project and the design costs for the Mud Flat Park for tidal flat healing travel, and we will use this momentum to work even harder with local businesspeople toward an era of happiness in Jeonnam."

At the New Year's Meeting, Kim Jong-wook, CEO of Jukam Construction Co., Ltd., was awarded the 2024 Suncheon Chamber of Commerce Award for his contributions to leading the innovative growth of companies in the Suncheon area, hiring local talent, and contributing to social responsibility activities, thereby revitalizing the Suncheon economy.
