Performance of Resolution Pledge for a Population of 100,000 in 10 Years

Goheung-gun, Jeollanam-do (Governor Gong Young-min) announced on the 2nd that over 120 senior officials attended the 2024 Gapjin Year New Year's opening ceremony, along with a resolution pledge performance aimed at achieving a population of 100,000 in Goheung in 10 years.

This performance was organized to solidify the determination to realize the vision of the 8th elected administration, "Establishing the foundation for a population of 100,000 in Goheung in 10 years," starting this year and to take a step forward.

Governor Gong Young-min stated in his New Year's address, "We will focus our administrative capabilities on population growth and revitalizing the local economy," and presented the administrative direction for a promising future Goheung, a Goheung with increasing population, and a Goheung with improved quality of life for residents through three major future strategic industries: ▲ Space-centered city ▲ Tourism commercialization of drones (UAM) ▲ Leading and branding advanced smart agriculture, fisheries, and livestock industries.

He also said, "To drastically improve accessibility and living conditions, we will ensure that the 87.7 km straight high-speed road from Gwangju to Goheung-eup via Naro Space Center is included in the 2025 3rd Highway Construction Plan, and actively strive to have the railway infrastructure connecting the Jeolla Line Beolgyo Station with branch lines to build Goheung Station and Nokdong Station included in the 5th National Railway Network Construction Plan."

He continued, "In the Gapjin New Year, we will dedicate ourselves wholeheartedly to the happiness of residents and the transformative development of Goheung by uniting the wisdom of residents and public officials, for a vigorous leap and hopeful future of Goheung."
