Improvement of Working Conditions for Forest Disaster Site Officials: Establishment of 'Special Duty Allowance'
The treatment of field public officials in the forest disaster sector will be improved.

View original imageAccording to the Korea Forest Service, the revision of the "Regulations on Public Officials' Allowances, etc." on the 1st provided the basis for paying a special duty allowance (80,000 KRW per month) to those who regularly perform forest disaster tasks such as wildfires and landslides.
Additionally, under the revised regulations, the aviation allowance paid to pilots and maintenance personnel affiliated with the Korea Forest Service will be increased by up to 160,000 KRW per month.
The Korea Forest Service explained that the aviation allowance had been operated separately from those of other central government agencies such as the National Police Agency, the National Fire Agency, and the Korea Coast Guard, but with the revision of the regulations and integrated adjustment, the treatment can now be improved.
