Food tech startup Jeongyookgak is significantly expanding its product categories to include vegetables, fruits, and more. The strategy is to broaden the customer experience, which has been focused on livestock and seafood, to encompass overall dietary life.
Jeongyookgak announced on the 3rd that starting from the 8th of this month, it will sequentially launch about 40 new products over the course of a month that can be paired with its existing ultra-fresh food items.
First, it will introduce vegetables and fruits that go well with ultra-fresh main ingredients. Following this, it plans to release a variety of seasonal vegetables and carefully selected high-quality domestic and international fruits by season, and broadly expand its product range to include side dishes, sauces and seasonings that enhance ultra-fresh flavors, as well as meat processed products made from rich raw materials.
Jeongyookgak was the first in the industry to introduce the concept of ultra-fresh in 2016, launching products centered on raw materials that can deliver ultra-fresh points, such as pork within 4 days of slaughter, same-day processed chicken, and same-day collected eggs and milk. In 2021, it expanded its categories to include seafood and meal kits, focusing on maximizing the quality of individual products rather than rapidly increasing the number of products.
As Jeongyookgak enters its eighth year of commerce operations, customers familiar with Jeongyookgak’s quality have continuously requested the sale of everyday ingredients to enjoy alongside ultra-fresh products. After long consideration, the company decided to attempt expansion in a way that creates synergy with ultra-fresh items. Once this category configuration is complete, customers will be able to compose a perfect full-course meal with Jeongyookgak products alone, including main dishes, side dishes, and desserts.
All new products planned to meet Jeongyookgak’s high-quality standards will be operated as private brand (PB) products and sold in small quantities suitable for a single meal, proposing a dietary lifestyle that enjoys freshness. To maintain maximum freshness, the products are packed in self-developed packaging and delivered via same-day or early morning delivery in the Seoul metropolitan area and parts of the Chungcheong region, while other areas receive next-day courier delivery.
