Naver Establishes AI Safety Research Organization Directly Under CEO Choi Su-yeon
Naver has established a new organization directly under CEO Choi Soo-yeon dedicated to researching the safety of artificial intelligence (AI).
According to industry sources on the 3rd, Naver reorganized its structure on the 1st by setting up the Future AI Center. This organization, reporting directly to CEO Choi, is responsible for advancing AI technology and enhancing safety.
Amid global efforts to improve AI safety and reliability, the establishment of the Future AI Center reflects Naver's decision to align with these trends. The center is led by Ha Jung-woo, head of the Naver Cloud AI Innovation Center, who oversees AI strategy with a team of about 100 members.

The Future AI Center will research technologies to improve AI safety and also develop AI ethics policies. Through the development and risk management of Naver's large language model (LLM), HyperCLOVA X, the center plans to build a safe AI ecosystem and will work to advance AI safety technology research in collaboration with joint research centers.
