A Senior-Centered Digital Education Space Where Seniors Can Visit Anytime to Easily and Naturally Learn and Experience Digital Skills
Eunpyeong-gu, Seoul (Mayor Kim Mi-kyung) announced that it has been operating the 'Seoul Digital Companion Plaza' on a trial basis since the end of last December.
The 'Seoul Digital Companion Plaza' is a senior-centered digital education space where elderly people can visit anytime they want to easily and naturally learn and experience digital technology. It supports solving digital problems encountered in daily life through various programs, experiences, and consultations in an enjoyable way.
Any elderly person can visit the center and receive free education, experience, and consultation related to digital fields connected to daily life. However, programs with limited capacity or the use of digital devices require online reservation before use.
To bridge the digital gap among the elderly and support cultural and leisure activities, the plaza offers programs such as ▲basic digital education ▲smartphone and social networking service (SNS) usage ▲kiosk operation ▲taxi reservation ▲delivery ordering ▲banking services ▲digital culture and healthcare.
The operating hours are from 9 a.m. to 9 p.m. on weekdays, and from 9 a.m. to 6 p.m. on weekends and public holidays. It is located on the 2nd floor of the youth housing building, a 5-minute walk from Exit 3 of Gusan Station on Line 6. The facility includes education rooms such as a robot cafe and kiosk experience zone, as well as a digital putting zone, digital gallery, and digital library.
Visitors can tour the center and participate in programs after making a reservation through the Seoul Digital Companion Plaza website. Elderly people who have difficulty making reservations online can call the Seobuk Center to book.
