President Yoon Suk-yeol has established a special cyber advisor position and appointed Lim Jong-in, Chair Professor at Korea University's Graduate School of Information Security, as the inaugural special advisor, the Presidential Office announced on the 2nd.

Special Advisor Lim will assist President Yoon in formulating countermeasures against cyber security threats. Lim is an expert in the field of cyber security, having served as Chair of the Security Technology Committee at the Financial Security Institute, President of the Korea Institute of Information Security & Cryptology, and Policy Advisory Committee member of the National Security Office. He also served as the President's Special Security Advisor during the Park Geun-hye administration in 2015.
Meanwhile, on the same day, President Yoon presented appointment letters to Chief of Staff Lee Kwan-seop, Director of National Security Jang Ho-jin, and Policy Chief Sung Tae-yoon. Earlier, about 20 months after his inauguration, President Yoon replaced all three heads of the Presidential Office, including the Chief of Staff, for the first time at the end of last year.
