2024 Gyeongnam Province Officially Begins Work with 'Listening to Residents' Voices'

Gyeongsangnam-do started the new year’s first task by listening to the voices of its residents.

On the morning of the 2nd, Gyeongnam held an event titled ‘Wishes for the New Year’s Provincial Administration’ in the main conference room of the provincial government office to hear the future vision and policy suggestions that residents desire for Gyeongnam.

The event was attended by Governor Park Wan-su, as well as Executive Vice Governor Choi Man-rim, Economic Vice Governor Kim Byung-gyu, and all former department and bureau heads.

About 70 people also participated, including Baek Si-chul, full-time vice chairman of the Changwon Chamber of Commerce and Industry, startup representatives and businesspeople, local broadcasters, and residents with experience of career interruption.

After explaining the direction of provincial administration for 2024, Gyeongnam listened to the plans of attending residents for 2024 and heard stories from distant industrial sites through live connections.

Through the segment titled ‘Hope Opened Together with Residents! A New Era for Gyeongnam,’ they identified residents’ proposals for the new year’s provincial administration.

A Nuriho rocket launch performance was also held, expressing the aspiration for Gyeongnam to lead South Korea’s aerospace era and soar with all its might.

Governor Park said, “Last year, we achieved a trade surplus for 14 consecutive months and attracted a record investment exceeding 9 trillion won, among many other accomplishments. As we welcome the new year, we will listen carefully to the areas of interest of our residents and work hard to operate the provincial administration for the people.”
