McDonald's Opens Public Recruitment for 'Restaurant Management Positions'
‘Open Hiring’ Without Discrimination Based on Education or Disability
"Not a Company That Makes Burgers, But People Who Make Burgers"
McDonald's Korea announced on the 2nd that it will conduct an open recruitment for its first full-time 'Restaurant Management Position' of 2024.
McDonald's Korea plans to continue large-scale full-time recruitment this year, aiming to hire more than 400 employees starting with the restaurant management position.
The restaurant management position at McDonald's Korea, called 'Manager Trainee,' is responsible for overall restaurant operations. This open recruitment is conducted through an 'open hiring' process without discrimination based on education, age, gender, or disability, allowing anyone with interest and passion for the food service industry to apply regardless of related experience.
Applicants will go through document screening, first-round interviews, and second-round restaurant practical training before final selection. In particular, the second-round restaurant practical training allows candidates to experience the tasks they will perform after passing, helping to assess both job understanding and suitability, and evaluating the applicant’s qualities and capabilities from multiple perspectives.
Upon joining as a restaurant manager, employees are given the opportunity to grow into food service management experts through McDonald's systematic practical training curriculum. From the fourth month of employment, there is an opportunity for promotion to assistant manager, and later, growth into restaurant general manager or regional restaurant manager is possible. Additionally, employees can transfer to various headquarters departments such as marketing, human resources, finance, and IT to build a specialized career. In fact, about half of the employees at McDonald's Korea headquarters are known to have started their careers in restaurants.
Document submission is open until January 14th, and applications can be made through the McDonald's Korea recruitment website.
A McDonald's Korea representative stated, “McDonald's is not a company that just makes burgers but a company of ‘people who make burgers.’ We continuously provide recruitment opportunities and offer professional and systematic training programs to support business growth,” adding, “We ask for great interest in this open recruitment, which offers the chance to build global food service management expertise and grow into an industry expert.”
