Boseong Yulpo Beach Holds Sunrise Viewing Event
Percussion, Gugak, Vocal Performances, and Daljip Burning Event
Boseong-gun, Jeollanam-do announced that it will hold the ‘Gapjin Year (甲辰年) Sunrise Event’ on January 1st at Yulpo Pine Forest Beach area, praying for the development, well-being, and harmony of all residents.
This sunrise event is hosted and organized by the Boseong Lions Club and will feature a variety of programs starting from 6:30 AM on January 1st, including percussion performances, traditional Korean music (gugak) performances, vocal performances, sharing hopes for the new year, and a Daljip burning ceremony.
Additionally, around the event site, visitors will be provided with free servings of freshly prepared New Year’s rice cake soup (tteokguk), warm beverages, and hand warmers.
Baek Jeom-ryong, president of the Boseong Lions Club, said, “We hope that everyone will have a healthy body and mind in the year of the Blue Dragon, which soars vigorously in the Gapjin year.”
A Boseong-gun official stated, “We will work joyfully to ensure that residents and tourists can have a special start to the new year 2024 at the famous sunrise spot, Yulpo Pine Forest Beach in Boseong.” He added, “We hope everyone welcomes the new year with hope while watching the rising sun.”
Meanwhile, to prevent safety accidents, about 50 safety personnel will be deployed at Yulpo Pine Forest Beach where the event is held, and a safety management plan will be established to maintain systematic order, ensuring thorough safety measures for the event.
