Gwangju Seo-gu Wins 'Excellence Award' at Chamjoheun Local Autonomy Policy Competition

Seo-gu, Gwangju Metropolitan City (Mayor Kim Ikang) announced on the 22nd that it received the Excellence Award, the "President Award of the Korean Local Government Association," at the 'Chamjoeun Local Autonomy Policy Conference.'

Seogu received the Excellence Award at the "Very Good Local Autonomy Policy Conference Awards Ceremony" held on the 22nd at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Seoul.

The Chamjoeun Local Government Council holds an annual policy conference to introduce excellent policies of each local government and to promote policy exchange among local governments.

The policy conference held at the National Assembly Members' Office Building in Seoul selected six outstanding local governments, including Seo-gu, among 46 local governments nationwide.

At the Southern Region Policy Conference held on September 20, Seo-gu introduced its unique core brand policies centered on ▲ realizing distinctive village centers using village BI (Brand Identity) to find the identity of each neighborhood and ▲ the 'Happiness for 1,000 Won, 1,000 Won Noodles' project.

The excellent case presented by the Seo-gu mayor was evaluated as an innovative and warm-hearted policy that could serve as a model for other local governments, leading to the Excellence Award at this Chamjoeun Local Autonomy Policy Conference.

Mayor Kim Ikang of Seo-gu said, "The branding strategy we pursued to create new regional momentum set Seo-gu's unique innovation direction, and the joint efforts of public officials and residents resulted in this valuable award," adding, "We will continue to advance the Seo-gu brand project and strive to complete a new policy model."
