"Sharing Sustainable Management Cases"... Kia Hosts 'Christmas EV Day'
Kia announced on the 22nd that it held the '2023 Christmas EV Day' with its executives and employees. This event was organized as a Kia employee participation event to share sustainable management practices. It took place over three days from the 19th to the 21st at the Kia brand experience center 'KIA 360'.
First, at the 'Christmas ESG Market' held from the 19th, six brands practicing eco-friendly values participated to share eco-friendly management cases and exhibit products to Kia employees. At the same time, a donation program for underprivileged groups was also conducted.
The six participating brands were ▲ Superbin, a waste resource circulation startup, ▲ Elephant Factory, a toy-specialized resource circulation company, ▲ LAR, a fashion brand recycling waste plastic, ▲ Tone28, a vegan cosmetics brand, ▲ CONTINUE, a brand that transforms automotive waste into bags and wallets, and ▲ 119Leoda, an upcycling fashion brand using discarded firefighter uniforms.
Kia plans to donate the proceeds from this event to the Seungil Hope Foundation, Yangjae Comprehensive Social Welfare Center, and Seoul Metropolitan Developmental Disability Welfare Center. The six participating brands also joined the donation by planning to deliver part of their sales revenue and their brand products to the local community.
Additionally, on the 21st, an ESG talk concert was held under the theme of 'Sustainability.' Broadcasters Sean and Dal Subin, who share positive influence, hosted the event. Four CEOs from the ESG brands Superbin, Tone28, LAR, and CONTINUE participated as panelists to share with Kia employees the direction of ESG management and ways to practice it.
