Mokpo National University Selected as an Excellent Operating University for the 'Small Business Digital Specialized University' Program
Additional Points Awarded for Project Designation in Next Year's Project Application
The Digital Transformation Support Center at Mokpo National University (President Song Ha-cheol) announced on the 22nd that it was finally selected as an excellent operating university in the 2023 Small Business Digital Specialized University Operation Evaluation by the Small Enterprise and Market Service on the 20th.
The performance evaluation, conducted on the 15th under the supervision of the Small Enterprise and Market Service, was divided into quantitative evaluation (60 points) and qualitative evaluation (40 points), and was mainly conducted through document review based on university-specific performance data related to evaluation indicators.
The evaluation areas were divided into △ business performance △ operation management △ sustainability, and among the 17 participating universities, only 5 universities were selected as excellent operating universities. Mokpo National University, selected as an excellent operating university, will receive additional points related to project designation when applying for projects in the following year.
Professor Lee Seok-in, head of the Digital Transformation Support Center at Mokpo National University, said, "The selection as an excellent operating university is thanks to the dedication and efforts of the staff, and next year, we will continue to support the digital transformation of small business owners, who are the backbone of the Korean economy, contributing to the revitalization of the local economy."

Meanwhile, the Small Enterprise and Market Service under the Ministry of SMEs and Startups designated and operated the Small Business Digital Specialized University at Mokpo National University since 2022. On the 13th, it was introduced as a Korean case in the UNDP (United Nations Development Programme) knowledge-sharing webinar, providing many implications for the digitalization of traditional markets by the Peruvian government.
