Hongje 2 District, Mixed Development of 132 Apartment Units and Neighborhood Commercial Complex
A complex of 132 residential units and neighborhood shops will be built in Hongje 2 District near Subway Line 3.
On the 22nd, the Seoul Metropolitan Government announced that it held the 12th Urban Redevelopment Committee meeting the previous day and approved a revised plan for the redevelopment promotion plan (amendment) for the Hongje 2 Redevelopment Promotion District.
The Hongje 2 District (area 3,069㎡) around 326-5 Hongje-dong, Seodaemun-gu, is an area urgently requiring the redevelopment of unauthorized and deteriorated buildings. The district was designated as a redevelopment zone in 2005, a redevelopment promotion district in 2010, and had its redevelopment promotion plan amended in 2014, but the project had been stalled for a long time.
With this amendment to the redevelopment promotion plan, the residential ratio for mixed-use residential buildings in the commercial area of the redevelopment promotion district has been relaxed, allowing the supply of a total of 132 residential units (including 19 public housing units) and neighborhood shops.
Additionally, the back area of Tongil-ro, which had been difficult to pass due to the proliferation of unauthorized buildings, will be designated as roads and public open spaces, expanding redevelopment infrastructure. Through public contributions, a social welfare facility, a necessary local facility, is planned to be constructed.
