'Yeonjin's Appearance' Triples... Christmas Cakes Sell Like Hotcakes
Tous Les Jours Cake Pre-Sales Up 51% Year-on-Year
Noted Christmas Cakes Sold Out 10,000 Units
Various Discount Benefits Follow... Strong Pre-Order Performance
This year’s Christmas cakes are expected to achieve record-breaking sales. Ahead of Christmas, the increase in consumers aiming for large-scale discounts during pre-sales, along with selecting popular models to strengthen year-end marketing, contributed to this trend.
According to the distribution industry on the 22nd, CJ Foodville’s Tous Les Jours saw a 51% increase in sales during the Christmas cake pre-order period from last month’s 20th to this month’s 19th compared to the same period last year. It is analyzed that the maximum 20% discount during this period and allowing customers to pick up products at their desired store and time drew a positive response.
In the case of Twosome Place, the reservation rate for their signature cake product ‘Scho-saeng (Strawberry Chocolate Fresh Cream)’ from last month’s 24th to this month’s 17th increased by a whopping three times compared to the same period last year. It is analyzed that the sales increase was linked to advertising campaigns, including appointing actress Lim Ji-yeon, who rose to stardom through the popular OTT drama ‘The Glory’ at the end of last month, as the brand’s first exclusive product model.
The flagship product Scho-saeng uses ganache chocolate fresh cream and French luxury chocolate Valrhona’s chocolate balls, topped with fresh strawberries. In a market dominated by white fresh cream cakes, it has gained recognition as a chocolate fresh cream cake and has become so popular that cumulative sales this year have surpassed 10 million units.

The Winter Berry Tart features a crispy tart topped with white whipping tree cream and abundant fresh strawberries, capturing the Christmas atmosphere well, which Paris Baguette says attracted many consumers. Furthermore, it is analyzed that the maximum 30% discount offered on online platforms, including their own app, during pre-orders helped boost the reservation rate.
Dessert cafe Noted began accepting reservations for Christmas limited edition cakes through KakaoTalk’s reservation service from last month’s 24th, and the prepared quantity of 10,000 units sold out within a week, prompting additional production.
