Yuwon Golf Foundation 'Selection of Outstanding Academic Youth Scholars'
20 Beneficiaries This Year, Total Support of 60 Million KRW
140 Dream Makers Nurtured Over 8 Consecutive Years
The Yuwon Golf Foundation has contributed to nurturing golf talent.
On the 21st, the Yuwon Golf Foundation announced that it selected 20 outstanding youth scholarship recipients for 2024 from promising elementary school students nationwide. This marks the eighth consecutive year. A total of 140 students have benefited. To ensure a fair and transparent selection process, 10 top male and 10 top female players were chosen based on the Korea Golf Association Junior National Team rankings. Each recipient receives an annual scholarship of 3 million KRW, totaling 60 million KRW. Park Hyodam (6th grade, Chojun Elementary School) said, "I am happy to be selected as a scholarship student as a result of my hard work. I will do my best to achieve my dream of becoming a professional golfer."

Established in 2015, the Yuwon Golf Foundation supports young golf hopefuls to pursue both sports and academics in a stable environment. It provides scholarships, overseas training camps, equipment purchases, and covers expenses for international competitions to expand promising players' international experience. Additionally, Kim Youngchan, chairman of Golfzon Nwdin Group and chairman of the Yuwon Golf Foundation, donated 50 million KRW from the Neighbor Love Birdie Fund to the Community Chest of Korea Daejeon Social Welfare Community Chest. The fund, accumulated by Chairman Kim and his family, exceeds 200 million KRW in total.
