Icheon City Signs Industry-Academia-Research Agreement to Foster Semiconductor Talent
Collaboration to Attract Talent Development Institutions and Discover High School Partnership Projects
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City has joined hands with local universities, research institutes, and companies to cultivate specialized semiconductor personnel.
On the 21st, Icheon City announced that on the 20th, it signed a 'Business Agreement for the Cultivation of Field-Oriented Semiconductor Professionals' with Doowon Technical University, Icheon Office of Education, Korea Ceramic Technology Institute Icheon Branch, DS Techno Co., Ltd., Value Engineering Co., Ltd., BCN Co., Ltd., and Youngjin IND Co., Ltd.

This agreement aims to resolve the recruitment difficulties of companies and strengthen competitiveness by nurturing field-oriented talent desired by semiconductor companies and attracting specialized educational institutions.
The signing ceremony was attended by Kim Kyung-hee, Mayor of Icheon City, Lim Hae-gyu, President of Doowon Technical University, Kim Eun-jung, Superintendent of Icheon Office of Education, Kim Eung-su, Director of Korea Ceramic Technology Institute Icheon Branch, and company officials.
Through this agreement, these institutions will cooperate to ▲ attract institutions for semiconductor industry talent development ▲ discover cooperative projects linked with local high schools ▲ operate programs to resolve semiconductor companies' recruitment difficulties and enhance employee capabilities ▲ jointly use facilities for semiconductor education and support on-site training.
Earlier, at the end of last month, Icheon City established the 'Icheon Semiconductor Comprehensive Solution Center.' The center plans to build a 'Semiconductor Talent Development Center' in the first half of next year to operate systematic employment programs. This month, Icheon Jeil High School was also selected for the Gyeonggi Provincial Office of Education's 'Future New Industry High-Tech Specialized High School Semiconductor Contract Department.'
