Two Missing Mountaineering Club Members Found Dead in Heavy Snowfall on Seoraksan
Police Investigating Accident Circumstances
Two members of a mountaineering club who went missing after climbing a mountain last weekend, when heavy snow fell in the Gangwon region, were found dead a day apart.
According to the police and fire authorities on the 19th, a man in his 40s, Mr. A, was found dead near Sinseonbong Peak in Seoraksan at around 11:15 a.m. that day.

Earlier, at around 1 p.m. the previous day, a man in his 50s, Mr. B, was also found dead about 500 meters from where Mr. A was discovered.
They had gone hiking on the 16th and lost contact, leading to a missing person report filed with the police that evening. The police confirmed through closed-circuit television (CCTV) inquiries that they had been at a parking lot in Toseong-myeon, Goseong, at around 6:10 a.m. on the day they went missing, and have been conducting searches in the area.

The police are investigating the exact circumstances of the accident by questioning other members of the mountaineering club.
