Geochang-gun Selects 6 Outstanding Public Officials for Active Administration in the Second Half of the Year
Practice Proactive Administration with a Creative and Challenging Attitude
Geochang-gun, Gyeongnam Province announced on the 19th that it has selected six outstanding public officials for proactive administration in the second half of 2023, who demonstrated a creative and challenging attitude in actively carrying out their duties.
The county conducted a public vote among residents for five days from November 27 to December 1 on the excellent cases of proactive administration submitted by departments, and on the 14th, held the 3rd Geochang-gun Proactive Administration Committee meeting to make the final selection by combining the committee’s written evaluation scores.

View original imageThe grand prize among the outstanding public officials for proactive administration in Geochang-gun in the second half of 2023 was awarded to Park Dong-hyun, an officer from the Forestry Division, who greatly contributed to maximizing the project’s effectiveness by resolving a legal dispute related to the contract for the creation of Bbaejjae Forest Leisure Park, a key local issue, and by carefully considering usability, safety, convenience, and scenery for tourists.
The excellence awards went to Kim Young-joo from the Health Policy Division, who contributed to obtaining the third-cycle certification of Geochang County Elderly Nursing Hospital, and Choi Se-hoon from the Population Education Division, who worked to overcome the crisis of ‘regional extinction and ultra-low birthrate’ by striving to maintain Geochang’s population at 60,000.
The encouragement awards were given to Kim Tae-rim from the Agricultural Technology Division, who promoted Geochang apples to become a nationwide leading advanced multi-axis apple production area; Yoo Won-jeong from Geochang-eup, who installed safety alert lighting; and Park Dong-hyun from the Agricultural Technology Division, who contributed to establishing and activating item-specific smart APC bases.
Selected employees will receive incentives such as additional points in their performance evaluations.
