Oosthuizen rose to the world’s top tier by winning the 2010 major tournament The Open Championship. Since joining LIV Golf at its launch in 2022, he has hardly participated in PGA Tour events or the DP World Tour tournaments, which had been his main stage. His world ranking, once as high as 4th, dropped to 197th. Oosthuizen took to the European stage to earn world ranking points while LIV Golf was on break, achieving results beyond expectations.
