Jindo-gun, Excellent Agricultural and Marine Products Enter Vietnam Market

Australia, the United States, and now the Vietnamese Market... Green Light for Agricultural and Marine Product Exports

Jindo-gun, Jeollanam-do, signed a $1 million export agreement with Dongyang Agricultural and Marine Products Distribution (CEO Hong Deok-ja) in Hanoi, Vietnam.

On the 18th, according to the county, the Jindo-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Export Pioneering Team, led by Vice Governor Woo Hong-seop, visited Vietnam and attended promotional events for Jindo agricultural and marine products at Won Mart (located in Hanoi) and Plus Mart (located in Bac Ninh), where they signed the export agreement.

This export agreement primarily involves the entry of Jindo-gun agricultural and marine products into the Vietnamese market worth $1 million over the next year. It is the third agricultural and marine products export agreement following those with Australia and the United States.

At local Vietnamese supermarkets, promotional events to strengthen the promotion and sales of Jindo-produced white rice, blue crabs, seaweed, kelp, gimbugak (crispy seaweed snacks), and turmeric processed foods are being held until the 22nd.

In particular, at Won Mart in Hanoi, the Korean food (K-food) trend received great response from locals, and at Plus Mart in Bac Ninh, where domestic large corporations have local factories, enthusiastic reactions continued from overseas Koreans longing for the taste of their hometown.

Additionally, the Jindo-gun Agricultural and Marine Products Export Pioneering Team held meetings with the Vietnamese Korean community to explore cooperation plans through continuous exchanges between Jindo-gun and the Vietnamese Korean community.

Vice Governor Woo Hong-seop said, “We are pleased to be able to showcase Jindo’s excellent agricultural and marine products in Vietnam following Australia and the United States,” and added, “We will spare no administrative support to develop various sales channels that can lead to increased real income for Jindo’s farming and fishing households.”

Meanwhile, Jindo-gun demonstrated the unlimited export potential of its excellent agricultural and marine products by signing a $1 million export business agreement with Australia in July and achieving a $5 million export business agreement with the U.S. market in November.
