Vowing to Do Their Best in Wildfire Prevention and Suppression Activities
Hamyang-gun, Gyeongnam announced on the 15th that it held the '2023 Hamyang-gun Forest Fire Watchers Ground Firefighting Competition' to improve the firefighting skills and teamwork of forest fire watchers.
According to the county, the competition held at Daebongsan Natural Recreation Forest in Byeonggok-myeon, Hamyang-gun, was attended by about 110 participants, including forest fire watchers and responsible officials from 11 towns and townships within Hamyang-gun, competing in their skills.
This forest fire watchers ground firefighting competition was held for the first time this year to strengthen the firefighting capabilities of town and township forest fire watchers and enhance teamwork among them through firefighting training and competition simulating an actual forest fire occurrence.
The evaluation criteria involved measuring the water supply time by using a fire engine to supply water through a hose over a mountainous terrain distance of about 200 meters.
As a result of continuous firefighting training during the competition preparation, Hucheon-myeon won the grand prize, Yurim-myeon and Jigok-myeon received excellence awards, and Sudong-myeon, Seosang-myeon, and Baekjeon-myeon were awarded encouragement prizes.
