Ahn Cheol-soo: "Kim Ki-hyun's Meeting with Lee Jun-seok a Major Flaw in Resignation Decision"
People Power Party Lawmaker Posts on SNS
"Incomprehensible Actions Just Before Resignation"
Ahn Cheol-soo, a member of the People Power Party, stated that the meeting between former People Power Party leader Kim Ki-hyun and former leader Lee Jun-seok just before Kim's resignation announcement "left a significant flaw in the decision to resign from the party leadership."
On the 14th, Ahn posted on his social media (SNS), saying, "There was an incomprehensible act of a meeting between former and current party leaders right before the resignation," expressing his view.
Ahn also said, "Among the many demands from the Innovation Committee, former leader Kim only accepted the grand pardon for former leader Lee, and he resigned without processing the expulsion of Lee, which I requested through a party member signature campaign."
Earlier, during the by-election campaign for the mayor of Gangseo District in Seoul, Ahn launched a signature campaign to expel former leader Lee, accusing him of spreading fake news about him amid a controversy over abusive language, and also requested expulsion disciplinary action from the party's Ethics Committee.
Ahn continued, "Now, reflecting on the past time and giving hope to the people is the task of the new leadership," adding, "There remains a significant challenge to transform into a party that meets or exceeds the expectations of the people."
