GKL Wins Korea Startup Forum Chairman's Award at Korea Internet Awards
Development Achievement of Dealer Training Mobile Game 'Dealing Star'
Grand Korea Leisure (GKL) announced on the 14th that it received the Chairman's Award from the Korea Startup Forum at the '18th Korea Internet Awards' ceremony.
The Korea Internet Awards, which began in 2006, is an event that recognizes outstanding companies, organizations, and individuals who have contributed to the development of the internet industry and the spread of a healthy internet culture. It is hosted by the Ministry of Science and ICT and organized by the Korea Information and Broadcasting Communication Federation. Awards are given in four categories: Internet Business, Internet Technological Innovation, Internet Social Contribution, and Individual Achievement.
GKL was recognized for leading digital innovation in casino job training by developing the mobile game "Dealing Star" for casino dealer job training. Dealing Star, the world's first first-person dealer perspective simulation game, allows users to become dealers and operate casino game tables (Blackjack, Baccarat). It is based on the National Competency Standards (NCS) learning modules.
Dealing Star was developed by the in-house venture "GKLick," selected through an internal contest in October 2021, aiming to improve job skills not only for students and job seekers aspiring to work in casinos but also for current employees.
