Krafton 'Battlegrounds' Reaches Peak Concurrent Users of 620,000
New Map 'Rondo' Receives Positive Response... Expecting a New Heyday
Crafton's ‘PUBG: Battlegrounds (hereafter Battlegrounds)’ has entered a new golden era since releasing its tenth new map, ‘Rondo,’ on the 6th.
Crafton announced on the 14th that it recorded a peak concurrent user count of 620,000 on the Steam platform on the 10th.
Rondo showcases regions where traditional beauty and modern elements harmoniously blend, attracting great interest from users worldwide.
The large-scale campaign featuring actors Lee Jung-jae and Owen Jo is also receiving positive responses. The Rondo main film directed by Sam Hargrave, titled ‘Glorious Battlefield Rondo,’ was simultaneously released on the official YouTube channel and other platforms, surpassing 1 million views.
Battlegrounds is holding various events to celebrate the release of Rondo. Players can earn abundant rewards through the ‘Rondo Welcome Gift’ and ‘Catch the Weapon Skin’ events available on the event page. Additionally, in-game events such as the ‘Glory Login Event’ and ‘Rondo Mission Event,’ as well as official cafe events like the ‘Acrostic Poem Event’ and ‘Photo Certification Event,’ are ongoing.
Kim Tae-hyun, PUBG Studio’s in-game development PD, stated, “Rondo is a map where modern cities and places imbued with the scent of traditional past coexist, offering a unique charm. During the first month after release, we will give users enough time to explore and adapt to the new map. Afterwards, we plan to introduce new features and content that change key Battlegrounds elements such as dropping, farming, and survival to provide diverse choices and fresh gameplay experiences.”
Jang Tae-seok, PUBG Studio’s general PD, said, “Thanks to the users who have shown great affection and provided feedback for Battlegrounds, we have been able to grow. We will continue to do our best to provide the gameplay that users want.”
