Jeong Sin-ah, CEO of Kakao Ventures, was appointed as the new sole CEO of Kakao on the 13th.
On the morning of the same day, Kakao held a nomination committee meeting and reported Jeong Sin-ah, who is in charge of overall business, as the sole CEO nominee. Jeong Sin-ah will be officially appointed as CEO after the board of directors and shareholders' meeting in March next year.
Born in 1975, Jeong Sin-ah is 48 years old. She graduated from Yonsei University with a degree in French Language and Literature and Business Administration, and earned a master's degree in Marketing from the Graduate School of Business at the same university. She also attended the MBA program at the Ross School of Business, University of Michigan. She began her career as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group in 2000, then moved to eBay in 2007, where she worked as a Strategy Manager at the eBay APAC HQ. From 2010, she served as a senior manager at Naver for three years. From 2014 to 2018, she was an executive director at Kakao Ventures, and since 2018, she has been serving as the CEO of Kakao Ventures.
Jeong Sin-ah joined Kakao as a non-executive director in March this year, enhancing her understanding of Kakao's business and services. Since September, she has expanded her role to oversee the business division within the CA council. Currently, she is also participating as a standing member of the Management Innovation Committee, discussing the direction of reform. Going forward, as a nominee, she will lead the reform task force to set the direction for Kakao's substantial reform and manage detailed tasks.
