LG Uplus announced on the 13th that it has obtained the Health-Friendly Company Certification, hosted by the Ministry of Health and Welfare and organized by the Korea Health Promotion Institute. The Health-Friendly Company Certification system is a program that grants certification to companies that exemplary operate health-friendly systems to promote the creation of health-friendly environments.
At the ‘2023 Health-Friendly Company Certification System Performance Conference and Excellent Company Awards Ceremony’ held the previous day at the Boco Seoul Gangnam Hotel, about 100 people attended, including Jeon Byeongwang, Director of Health and Medical Policy at the Ministry of Health and Welfare, Kim Hyunju, President of the Korea Health Promotion Institute, Kim Geonwoo, Chief Safety and Environment Officer (CSEO) of LG Uplus, as well as representatives from health-friendly certified companies and related organizations.
LG Uplus received high evaluations particularly for seeking various methods to create a health-friendly culture tailored to the life cycle, forming a dedicated organization for this purpose, and ensuring employment stability. LG Uplus has established various systems to help employees maintain a work-life balance, including ▲a flexible working system that allows free choice of working hours ▲Smart Working Day, where employees leave one hour early on the 2nd and 3rd Wednesdays of every month ▲PC-OFF system that automatically shuts down PCs at the end of working hours ▲Happiness 2-Hour system, allowing employees to leave two hours early twice a year on birthdays and anniversaries. Additionally, inside the office building, LG Uplus operates health stairs, a health management room, a maternity protection room, a gym, a psychological counseling room, and a meditation room to help relieve employees’ emotional tension and support their physical and mental health.
