Lee Jung-jae to Become Largest Shareholder of Wider Planet
The stock price of KOSDAQ-listed company 'Wider Planet' has attracted attention by hitting the upper limit even before the investment-related disclosures involving actors Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung.
Actor Lee Jung-jae and Minister of Justice Han Dong-hoon met at a restaurant in Seocho-gu, Seoul. The two are alumni of Seoul Hyundai High School, class of the 5th graduating class.

Wider Planet, a big data artificial intelligence marketing platform developer, announced after the market closed on the 8th that it decided on a third-party allotment paid-in capital increase worth 19 billion KRW to raise operating funds. The third-party allotment recipients include Lee Jung-jae (3,139,717 shares), Jung Woo-sung (627,943 shares), Wijewik Studio, and four others. Among them were also Park Kwan-woo and Park In-gyu, co-CEOs of Wijewik Studio.
Regarding the selection of Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung as third-party allotment recipients, Wider Planet stated, "The board of directors selected them considering the investors' intentions, payment capabilities, and timing to achieve the company's management objectives and promptly raise the necessary funds." Wider Planet plans to use these funds for company operations and debt repayment. The payment date is the 20th of this month, the new share issuance price is 3,185 KRW, and the expected listing date is the 28th of this month.
Artist Company, the agency representing Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung, explained, "Through participation in this paid-in capital increase, Lee Jung-jae and Jung Woo-sung will establish a strategic partnership with Wider Planet and plan to introduce scientific methods into the content production and distribution processes to increase the success rate of content in their future creative activities."
Wider Planet recorded the upper limit on the day of the paid-in capital increase announcement. The stock price, which was below 3,000 KRW earlier this month, closed at 4,825 KRW the previous day, soaring more than 60%.
