AI Industry-Academia-Research Association '3rd AI Professionals Day' Event
The Artificial Intelligence Industry-Academia-Research Association held the 3rd AI Professionals Day event on the afternoon of the 7th at the Gwangju Technopark International Conference Room.
This event was organized to encourage contributions to the development of the AI industry and to promote coexistence, exchange, and cooperation. About 150 people attended, including Kim Gwang-jin, Deputy Mayor of Culture and Economy of Gwangju City, and Lee Yong-bin, Member of the National Assembly.
The first part proceeded in the order of an opening performance, national ceremony, AI merit awards, presentation of appreciation plaques, and commemorative photo session.
The Gwangju Metropolitan City Mayor’s Commendation was awarded to 21 individuals, including Yang Guk-seung, CEO of Eunseong Tracis, Lee Yong-i, Director of SOS Lab, Jeon Chan-jun, Professor at Chosun University, and Kim Bo-ram, Head of the AI Industry Convergence Project Group.
The AI Industry-Academia-Research Association President’s Plaque of Appreciation was presented to four people, including Oh Chang-dae, CEO of For You Valet, and Kim Hyun-myung, CEO of Hyper Solution.
The second part of the event featured a technical exchange session with participation from Google Cloud Korea, LG Uplus, Samsung S1, and Hyundai Motor Company, sharing trends in generative AI, AI customer centers, next-generation security technologies, and autonomous vehicle sensor technologies.
Kim Jong-min, President of the AI Industry-Academia-Research Association, said, "We will continue to do our best to serve as a foundation for building an AI-leading city through cooperation with companies, academia, research institutions, and related organizations."

The AI Industry-Academia-Research Association is a non-profit corporation established in 2020 to foster and develop the AI industry ecosystem. It consists of over 120 AI technology companies, institutions, and organizations, playing a foundational role in advancing the AI industry not only in the Gwangju region but throughout the Republic of Korea.
