'27th Annual' Incheon Bupyeong Pungmul Festival Economic Impact 13.4 Billion Won... 210,000 Visitors Gather
The 27th Incheon Bupyeong Pungmul Festival this year has been found to have generated an economic effect worth approximately 13 billion KRW.
According to Bupyeong District, Incheon, on the 6th, a recent evaluation report meeting was held regarding the '27th Bupyeong Pungmul Festival' held from September 22 to 24 along Bupyeong-daero.
Based on the calculation method of the Ministry of Culture, Sports and Tourism, the district announced that the total direct economic effect was 13.4 billion KRW. The average spending per person was 49,345 KRW for Bupyeong residents and 75,001 KRW for non-residents.
Additionally, a total of 216,677 people visited during the festival period. By residence, 50.14% were Bupyeong residents and 49.86% were non-residents.
The district explained that survey analysis targeting festival staff, volunteers, and performers showed generally high positive responses regarding festival satisfaction, preparation and operation process satisfaction, and program appropriateness.
In the sales change analysis, respondents reported increases in food, cafes, alcoholic beverages, clothing, and miscellaneous goods in that order, with overall sales increasing by an average of 385%, indicating a positive impact on revitalizing the local economy. Among core content satisfaction, out of 12 programs, the 'Pungmul Stage and Bupyeong Residents Parade' received the highest score.

District Mayor Cha Joon-taek said, "I thank the related organizations, volunteers, and residents who spared no cooperation and support for the successful hosting of the festival," and added, "We will actively reflect the opinions presented at the evaluation report meeting in next year's festival."
