View original imageDigital transformation (DX) specialist LG CNS announced on the 5th that it conducted the DX social contribution program 'AI Genius' for middle school students in the Chungju area of Chungcheongbuk-do on the 4th.
LG CNS employees, external expert instructors, and university student volunteers provided education on DX-related technologies and services such as artificial intelligence (AI) chatbots, AI logistics robots, and MyData to 60 students from three schools: Mideok Middle School, Chungju Middle School, and Tangeum Middle School in Chungju.
Through the AI chatbot class, students created a chatbot that recognizes three emotions: 'happiness,' 'sadness,' and 'anger.' Using the beginner coding platform 'Scratch,' they repeatedly trained the AI with dozens of emotional expressions such as 'glad,' 'joyful,' 'upset,' and 'unfair,' then evaluated whether the chatbot could accurately distinguish and recognize the three emotions. For example, when entering the sentence 'I am happy today,' they checked if the chatbot judged the user's emotion as 'happiness.'
In the AI logistics robot class, essential for urban-type logistics centers (MFC), students verified whether the 'unmanned transport robot' (AGV) that moved according to commands and the 'smart sorter' that classified items into large, small, and irregular shapes and loaded them onto the AGV operated accurately within a 1m wide by 2m long MFC model. In the MyData class, students learned the concept of MyData and then planned and presented their own services.
AI Genius is scheduled during regular middle school classes in coordination with each provincial and city education office. Through this program, LG CNS has provided DX technology education to about 260 schools and over 20,000 students to date.
LG CNS, which offers AI education programs for elementary, middle, and high school students, received the Prime Minister's Commendation at the '2023 Information Culture Development Merit Government Awards' in June for its efforts in nurturing DX talent and contributing to bridging the regional IT information gap.
