Korea Investment Trust Management was established in 1974 as the first investment trust company in Korea. As of the end of October, it is a leading comprehensive asset management company in Korea, managing approximately KRW 45 trillion (based on AUM). It manages almost all types of funds, including general funds and exchange-traded funds (ETFs) investing in domestic and international stocks and bonds, as well as target date funds (TDFs), adhering to the investment philosophy of 'pursuing long-term performance.'
Korea Investment Trust Management is strengthening its presence not only domestically but also in overseas markets. Starting with the opening of its Ho Chi Minh office in Vietnam in 2006, followed by the Shanghai office in China in 2011, it has established a foothold for entering the Asian market. In particular, the Ho Chi Minh office in Vietnam became the world's second-largest Vietnamese equity management company in 2018 and transitioned to a corporate entity in 2020. As of the end of last year, 30 employees manage Vietnamese funds exceeding KRW 1.2 trillion (assets under custody).
With the investment philosophy of 'investments that make money for clients' and 'long-term investment,' Korea Investment Trust Management disclosed the Long-Term Capital Market Assumptions (LTCMA) for the first time among domestic asset management companies in January. Korea Investment Trust Management's LTCMA is the result of analyzing over 40 years of economic cycles. It is a tool for deriving optimal asset allocation. In October last year, it also launched the 'Korea Investment TDF Self-Managed ETF Focus' series using its proprietary glide path and LTCMA. This fund is characterized by an asset allocation portfolio optimized for Korean won investors, consisting of 'U.S. growth stocks and domestic bonds,' based on LTCMA results.
