ISO 14001 is an international standard for environmental management systems established by the International Organization for Standardization (ISO). It includes the environmental requirements, systems, and guidelines that organizations such as companies, institutions, and groups must have. It is a management system that evaluates and controls all corporate activities from the perspective of environmental impact, aiming for sustainable environmental management, enhancing corporate value, increasing business capabilities, and improving relationships with customers and shareholders.
Ildong Pharmaceutical's Anseong plant has established and implemented operational policies and key performance indicators (KPIs) related to environmental management, including ▲strengthening eco-friendly principles such as minimizing environmental impact ▲compliance with environmental standards and regulations ▲establishing systems for preventing and responding to environmental accidents ▲improving resource use efficiency through energy saving and waste reduction ▲and smooth communication with stakeholders.
Furthermore, to meet environmental standards, the Anseong plant has reflected environmental factors and advanced management systems throughout the entire process, including the finished pharmaceutical products such as solid and injectable formulations manufactured at the plant, as well as production facilities and processes.
Previously, Ildong Pharmaceutical's Cheongju plant had already obtained ISO 14001 certification. By expanding the certification scope to include the Anseong plant, Ildong Pharmaceutical emphasized that it has raised the level of environmental management for its manufacturing infrastructure.
