They also focused on checking measuring equipment and work procedures to prevent safety accidents including suffocation incidents.
CEO Kim Hoe-eon visited the Seongnam Industrial Complex Regeneration Complex Knowledge Industry Center site to inspect the status of confined space management, which is the most critical issue to be managed during winter. The inspection focused on whether work plans for hazardous confined spaces were established, whether risk assessments were prepared, and whether oxygen concentration was measured. During the inspection, CEO Kim emphasized the importance of pre-management of confined spaces, stating, “Among winter disasters, suffocation accidents are preventable if pre-inspections are properly conducted.”
On the same day, CSO Jeong Ik-hee inspected the Imun I-Park Xi site and stressed the importance of regular emergency evacuation drills, saying, “Fire is a disaster that can occur at any time, and all workers must be trained to respond immediately to fires.”
In addition, HDC Hyundai Development Company is leading the creation of a self-disciplined prevention culture where labor and management participate and practice by internalizing three major preventive activities as part of company-wide safety and health efforts: establishing work plans for all occupations, conducting risk assessments involving labor and management, and holding daily safety meetings.
Meanwhile, HDC Hyundai Development Company is focusing not only on winter safety management but also on everyday safety management. In particular, to eliminate blind spots in safety management, they are applying DX (digital transformation) in on-site safety management to enhance accident prevention and work efficiency. Since June last year, they have installed a CCTV integrated control center and minimized safety management blind spots by deploying fixed and mobile CCTVs in high-risk work areas to monitor risk factors.
