Shinsegae Department Store announced on the 4th that sales on the 4th floor of Centum City, which marked its 100th day since reopening (August 25 to November 30), increased by more than 50% compared to the same period last year. Sales among customers in their 20s rose by 321%, and sales among customers in their 30s increased by 182%. Customers in their 20s and 30s accounted for 51% of the New Contemporary Specialty Hall’s sales.
The number of customers purchasing from regions outside Busan doubled (98%) compared to the same period last year. By region, customers from the Seoul metropolitan area increased by 66%, Chungcheong area by 69%, Yeongnam area by 61%, and Honam area by 154%.
The success of the Centum City New Contemporary Specialty Hall is attributed to attracting not only brands already proven at the Gangnam store but also trendy brands that were previously available only online.
Leading the sales rankings were rookie designer brand Recto, which achieved first place in sales at the Gangnam store, as well as MinuteMute, Abiemua, and Grove, which were introduced for the first time among department stores nationwide. Accessory brands such as Osoi (bags) and Numbering (jewelry), along with lifestyle beauty brands like Fleurbois and Unbanish, also attracted 2030 customers.
The popup store of Dunst, which has rapidly grown online, was also hosted for the first time in the Busan commercial district. The popup, open until the 13th, offers a variety of Dunst’s winter collection items, including coats.
