On the 29th, Gumi City in Gyeongbuk received the 'Excellence Award' for the Gumi Dementia Safety Center at the '2023 Gyeongsangbuk-do Dementia Overcoming Management Project Performance Conference' held at the Daegu Inter-Burgo EXCO Hotel, and the Seonsan Dementia Safety Center was selected as an 'Outstanding Case' in the regional specialization category.

View original imageThe evaluation was conducted through performance results and written assessments of the integrated dementia management system across 21 items in 4 categories for 24 city and county public health centers in Gyeongbuk Province.
The Gumi Dementia Safety Center was recognized for high achievements in diagnostic test participation rates, training of dementia supporters, staffing rates at the dementia safety center, and the use of dementia awareness promotional content and channels, receiving the excellence award consecutively following last year.
The Seonsan Dementia Safety Center was selected as an outstanding case for conducting the dementia-preventive walking program 'Nordic Walking' in two dementia safety villages.
Additionally, the Gumi and Seonsan Dementia Safety Centers are committed to dementia prevention and overcoming by deploying dementia specialists to conduct early dementia screening, providing customized case management for dementia patients, supporting care supplies (such as diapers) and wandering identification tags, offering programs to prevent and mitigate dementia progression, and running dementia awareness campaigns.
