Icheon-si Selected as an Excellent Institution for 5 Consecutive Years in 'Creating a Clean Gyeonggi' Initiative
Gyeonggi-do Icheon City announced on the 1st that it has been selected as an excellent institution for five consecutive years in the 'Clean Gyeonggi Creation' city and county evaluation hosted by Gyeonggi-do.
The city explained that it won the Excellence Award in the C group evaluation, which is categorized according to population size, securing an institutional commendation along with a prize fund of 100 million won.
The city added that it has been selected as an excellent institution for five consecutive years, starting with the Grand Prize in 2019 when the evaluation began, followed by the Encouragement Award in 2020, the Excellence Award in 2021 and 2022, and this year's award.
Gyeonggi-do has been evaluating waste-related fields annually since 2019 by dividing the 31 cities and counties in the province into three groups based on population to create a clean Gyeonggi-do.
The city achieved excellent results in major evaluation items such as ▲1st place in the Best Practice Contest ▲inspection of businesses regulating single-use products ▲separate collection of transparent PET bottles in detached houses ▲crackdown and promotion of illegal acts such as illegal dumping ▲installation of living waste collection facilities ▲operation of a mobile living waste treatment team ▲resident autonomous purification activities.
