Do you know about ‘special transactions’?
Ulsan City has been selected as an outstanding local government in law enforcement performance in the field of special transactions by the Korea Fair Trade Commission. This recognition reflects the local government's efforts to prevent consumer damage in these transactions.
Special transactions refer to specific transaction methods used mainly in industries that do not primarily conduct in-store sales, such as door-to-door sales, multi-level marketing, e-commerce, and telemarketing.
On the morning of the 1st at 10:30 AM, Ulsan City will receive a commendation from the Chairman of the Fair Trade Commission at the 28th Consumer Day event held at EL Tower in Seocho-gu, Seoul.
Every year, the Fair Trade Commission selects and rewards outstanding local governments among the 17 metropolitan and provincial governments nationwide to protect consumer rights and enhance market trust in the field of special transactions. This year, six local governments were selected, with Ulsan City ranking second.
Ulsan City conducted comprehensive monitoring of about 18,000 local businesses in the special transactions sector since last year, activating law enforcement with 45 corrective recommendations and 2,319 ex officio cancellations, earning high marks for preventing consumer damage and establishing a sound commercial order.
