KOTRA Participates in Italy Aerospace Exhibition... Full Effort to Expand Domestic Companies' Food Industry
Forum and Consultation Meeting Held at 'Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADM) 2023'
KOTRA participated in the 'Aerospace and Defense Exhibition (ADM) 2023' held in Turin, Italy, for three days starting from the 28th, together with Jeju Province, and held an industry forum and export and investment consultation meetings.
The ADM exhibition is a representative European aerospace and defense industry exhibition held biennially since 2008. It is characterized by active business meetings and networking among global experts in related fields.
KOTRA collaborated with Jeju Province, Korea Aerospace Research Institute (KARI), Korea Aerospace Industries (KAI), and Perigee Aerospace (a private space startup) to respond to the cooperation demand with Italy, which is developing its aerospace industry, and to increase opportunities for domestic companies to enter the aerospace industry.
KOTRA is promoting the 'Global Partnering (GP) Project' in the aerospace sector to discover global corporate cooperation demands and help Korean companies enter the global supply chain. As part of this project, this year in Italy, KOTRA newly discovered sourcing demands in various fields such as avionics from 'TASI,' an Italian-French joint venture participating in the domestic reconnaissance satellite development project, and 'Avio Aero,' the Italian branch of aircraft engine company GE Aviation, and introduced excellent domestic companies.
The Italian aerospace industry ranks 7th in the world and 4th in Europe in terms of sales. It focuses on aircraft, spacecraft, satellite bodies and related parts, as well as radar and flight data recorder fields. Although the aerospace sector has high entry barriers, Italy has recently shown interest in cooperation with Korea for the digitalization and decarbonization of its aerospace industry.
Ambassador Lee Seong-ho to Italy said in his opening remarks, "During the visit of Italian President Mattarella to Korea this month, the aerospace sector was discussed as a key area of practical cooperation between the two countries," and added, "I hope today's event will be a good opportunity for companies from both countries to cooperate."
