'Kolon 4th Generation' Vice Chairman Lee Gyu-ho Promoted... Hansungsoo and Shin Sang-ho Appointed Presidents
'Kolon 4th generation' Lee Gyu-ho, CEO of Kolon Mobility, has been promoted to Vice Chairman of the holding company's Strategy Division.
Kolon Group announced on the 28th that it conducted the '2024 Executive and Officer Personnel Appointments' for a total of 37 people, including appointing Lee as Vice Chairman and CEO of the Strategy Division at the holding company Kolon Co., Ltd.
Considering the uncertain business environment and aiming for future value growth, Kolon Group divided the holding company into Support and Strategy divisions and appointed co-CEOs for each. Byeong-deok Ahn, Vice Chairman of Kolon Co., Ltd., will lead the Support Division alongside the newly appointed Vice Chairman Lee, jointly steering the group holding company.
Vice Chairman Lee, the eldest son of honorary chairman Lee Woong-yeol, has reorganized Kolon Group's automobile distribution business over the past three years and successfully launched Kolon Mobility Group as an independent corporation this year. Recently, he introduced the '702' brand encompassing Kolon's unique mobility services, expanding new businesses and solidifying a customer-centric business framework.
Lee joined Kolon Industries' Gumi plant as a deputy manager in 2012, working on the manufacturing floor. He then served in key roles across the group, including manager at Kolon Global (construction), assistant general manager at Kolon Industries, and executive director in charge of strategic planning at Kolon Co., Ltd.
After serving as Chief Operating Officer (COO) of Kolon Industries FnC Division, he has concurrently held the position of Chief Strategy Officer (CSO) at the holding company since 2021, leading the establishment of the group's hydrogen business value chain and spearheading future strategy development.
Additionally, in this personnel reshuffle, Han Sung-soo, Director of the Future Technology Institute (Vice President, concurrently CEO of Kolon TissueGene), and Shin Sang-ho, Head of the CEM Division (Vice President), were promoted to President.
Director Han has led advanced technological innovation and devoted efforts to developing eco-friendly technologies. Since 2020, he has also served as CEO of Kolon TissueGene, currently overseeing the stable conduct of the Phase 3 clinical trial in the U.S. for TG-C (formerly Invossa), a cell and gene therapy product. Head Shin joined Kolon Trading in 1983 and is a seasoned trading expert who has led global business for 40 years.
