LVMCHoldings Launches Laos Messenger Platform 'KokkokChat'
LVMC Holdings announced on the 28th that it has officially launched the messenger platform 'Kokkok Chat' in Laos. This allows the people of Laos to experience a messenger service specialized for Laos, based on their own language and culture.
One of the features embedded in Kokkok Chat by LVMC Holdings is 'real-time interpretation chat.' When users record voice or input text in English or Korean, artificial intelligence (AI) translates it into Lao in real time. It also provides the function of translating Lao into Korean or English.
Through Kokkok Chat's real-time translation feature, foreign tourists are expected to communicate smoothly with local merchants, enabling them to receive better services at restaurants, shops, and tourist attractions in Laos.
Until now, Laos lacked a domestic messenger app and used the global messenger 'WhatsApp,' which was developed based on English. Since WhatsApp is an international application, it was limited in providing cultural content or regional information specific to a particular country.
In contrast, Kokkok Chat is a locally specialized messenger platform developed with a focus on the language and culture of Laos. It concentrates on ensuring smooth message delivery even in Laos's poor mobile communication environment. Considering the characteristics of the Lao language, which has many tones and is difficult to type character by character on a keyboard, the voice message function was placed prominently.
