Yong Hye-in Promoting Reform Alliance New Party... "Will Play a Role in Driving the Democratic Party"
"Not a Satellite Party... We Will Show Reform Politics"
"Will Create a Four-Party Structure in the General Election to Block Lee Jun-seok's New Party"
Yong Hye-in, a member of the Basic Income Party who is promoting the 'Reform Coalition New Party' uniting the progressive camp, expressed her ambition on the 27th, saying, "We will not orbit around the Democratic Party like a satellite, but rather play a role in leading the Democratic Party forward."
Yong appeared on KBS's special program 'Radio Today' on the same day and stated, "The Reform Coalition New Party aims to respond to the public's desire for new politics revealed in the third zone or among undecided voters with the substance of reform politics."

View original imageThere are three main reasons why Yong is promoting the Reform Coalition New Party: the need for a force to overcome the crisis in South Korea caused by the Yoon Seok-yeol administration, moving away from election-engineering discussions about the third zone, and forming a four-party structure in the general election, which is expected to be a three-party contest among the two major parties and the 'Lee Jun-seok New Party.'
Yong emphasized, "It is difficult to repay the people with new politics based on election-engineering content like 'if these groups unite, they will get 10% or 15%.' Currently, it seems likely that the general election will be a three-party contest among the People Power Party, the Democratic Party, and the 'Lee Jun-seok New Party,' but we will create a four-party contest to block the 'Lee Jun-seok New Party.'"
Regarding former leader Lee Jun-seok and the 'Lee Jun-seok New Party,' Yong said, "There is a lot of political commentary, but as a politician, the national vision they reveal is neither clear nor definite. This kind of politics is contentless third-zone politics, as shown by the previous 'Ahn Cheol-soo-style new politics,' which ultimately ended up being absorbed into the Yoon Seok-yeol administration."
She continued, "For example, they run elections based on '20s bills, 20s policies.' If the Reform Coalition New Party wins, I want to create an electoral coalition that clearly shows that the tasks of the 22nd National Assembly will be those 20 items. What I and the Basic Income Party want to do is to show that inspiring vision of the nation."
Regarding concerns that the new electoral coalition party will eventually become a satellite party of the Democratic Party, she said, "It is questionable how it could be a satellite party of the Democratic Party when it was not created by the Democratic Party in the first place," adding, "The Reform Coalition New Party and satellite parties are completely opposite projects. Rather, we aim to reform the democratic progressive camp and lead it as a reform political force."
