"Cheerful Personality Led Teacher to Recommend Audition"
A child born without a nose is inspiring many people by maintaining a bright smile and a confident attitude despite her disability.
Recently, Irish News and others introduced Tessa Evans (10), a girl born in Ireland with a rare condition called Congenital complete arhinia. Arhinia is a congenital disorder characterized by being born without a nose, occurring as rarely as one in 197 million people. Fewer than 100 cases have been reported to date.
Recently, Tessa gained attention by appearing on Ireland's national broadcaster RTE's 'Late Late Toy Show.' This program is one of Ireland's longest-running shows and is famous for its high viewership ratings. It mainly introduces toys for children.
Thousands of applicants competed to appear on this show. Tessa's mother, Grainne, said, "We never expected to receive a call saying Tessa could participate in the broadcast," adding, "We were more excited than Tessa when we heard the news." She continued, "We hope that Tessa's appearance on the show will inspire and help others."
It was previously reported that Tessa was encouraged by her school teacher to audition for the program. Regarding this, Grainne said, "Tessa has a cheerful personality, which seems to have stood out," and added, "That's why Tessa's teacher suggested she should apply for the audition."

Shortly after birth, Tessa was moved to the intensive care unit and underwent a tracheostomy to facilitate breathing. She also had cataract surgery around 11 months old.
Later, Tessa had to undergo plastic surgery to implant prosthetics under the skin in preparation for creating an artificial nose in the future. In other words, the preparation process for nose transplantation started when she was very young.
Tessa's parents initially worried about her health and were concerned about what others might think. However, now they no longer care about others' opinions and hope that just as Tessa has inspired them, she can inspire others as well.
